FONASBA Annual Meeting 2023: Amman, Jordan, 16th – 18th October 2023

On behalf of the Jordanian Shipping Association (JSA), we are pleased to announce that registration and hotel bookings are now open for the 2023 FONASBA Annual Meeting.

The plenary section of the meeting runs from Monday, 16th October to Wednesday, 18th October, preceded by the Executive Committee meeting on Sunday 15th (members only) and followed on Thursday 19th by an optional excursion to Petra.

OPTIONAL EXCURSION: THURSDAY, 19th OCTOBER

The optional excursion is a day-long visit to the ancient city of Petra, described  by the poet John William Burgon in 1845 as the “Rose-Red City, half as old as time”.

The excursion will leave the Four Seasons at 8.00 am and return at approximately 8.00 pm. It will feature a three-hour tour of the site, followed by lunch. Delegates and partners are invited to pay particular attention to the notes regarding the length of the walk and the terrain to be covered.

Flight Bookings

We are pleased to advise that Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJA) is granting Annual Meeting delegates and partners a 25% discount on fares for direct flights to Amman or Aqaba.

The discount is subject to the following conditions:

Closing date of the offer: 18th October 2023
Travel date range out and return: 8th – 25th October 2023
Flight availability: Direct RJA return flights to Amman or Aqaba

Hotel Accommodation:

Accommodation has been reserved at the Four Seasons Hotel in central Amman and rooms are available at US$ 199.62 per night for a single room on B&B basis, and US$ 221.99 for a double room. PLEASE NOTE: The deadline for booking accommodation at the conference rate is 1st September 2023. Bookings received after that date will be subject to availability and charged at the standard rate prevailing at the time.

Registration Fees:

The delegate registration fee is €700.00 per person, the partner fee is €550.00, and the optional excursion to Petra is €155.00 per person. The rates include all meals and local taxes.

Arrival, Visas and Airport Transfers:

VIsas:

Delegates and partners holding passports from nations on Jordan’s Non-Restricted Countries list can obtain a visa on arrival. Those arriving from nations on the Restricted Countries List must apply for a visa in advance. The list of Restricted Countries can be found using this link: https://moi.gov.jo/EN/Pages/Restricted_and_Non_Restricted_Countries_Nationalities and a visa can be applied for via this webpage: https://moi.gov.jo/En/List/Service_Guide

Passport holders from nations on the non-Restricted list can request a visa through the Jordan association at a cost of US$ 40.00 per person (saving US$ 56.00 per person) by providing their passport details no less than 14 days before arrival. This service can be requested through the registration form, further details will then be obtained separately. Please note that the visa fee is refunded if the visa is not granted.

Airport Transfers:

Transfers between Queen Alia International Airport and the Four Seasons (or return) can be organised through JSA at a cost of US$ 50.00 for up to two persons either way, or US$ 70.00 for between two and six persons, either way. This service can be requested through the registration form, further details, including flight arrivals and departure information, will then be obtained separately.

Photographs or video footage taken during the event may be used for FONASBA’s own publicity purposes only and posted to the website or on social media. An individual may request the FONASBA Secretariat not to publish, or to remove, photographs or video footage. Action to do so will be taken as soon as practicable after the request is received”.
